So last week I promised an explanation of my fine art project. It has taken me a long time, and several attempts to find the right words. And no matter how close I think I have gotten, it always continues to evolve. So let’s start with a question. Why do I photograph dogs? Well, simple. I love my dogs. I think they are the most incredible creatures. Ever. They have been able to bring so much joy into my heart in some of the darkest times of my life. They have never left me, or let me down. They never judge me and always forgive me. What more could one ask for?
So, why photograph other people’s dogs you ask? Because I can’t help but be incredibly fascinated with the amazing and unique personality each dog has. And this is what brings me to Lilly. I was so fortunate to photograph for a local adoption foundation – Ruff Patch Rescue. Lilly lost her eye after neglect turned a small scratch into a major eye infection. She has gone through so much, yet here she is – so strong and beautiful.
